Drug Task Force works to get drugs off the streets

RICHMOND - In the past two and a half months that Sgt. Scott King has been the Director of the Madison County Drug Task Force, their group has seized more than 3,000 grams of methamphetamine that was either in, or had trafficking involvement, within the county.

The county drug task force, is a part of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program, an initiative within the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) that allows local, state and federal departments to combine and use resources to help combat high drug traffic areas in the region, state and nation.


Police: Large amount of meth seized after traffic stop in Laurel County

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - During a traffic stop south of London Wednesday morning, the Laurel County Sheriff's Department, along with the London office of Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), seized a large amount of crystal methamphetamine and charged three people with possession with intent to distribute of meth.

The traffic stop happened around 10:22 a.m. off Hwy. 770 after the Laurel County Sheriff's Department and the London DEA developed information on a large amount of crystal methamphetamine headed into Laurel County.


Feds charge accused drug dealer after woman dies of apparent heroin overdose

Bowling Green, KY - Just two days after a 23-year-old Bowling Green woman was found unconscious near a car on Park Street, the man accused of selling the drug leading to her apparent fatal overdose is in federal custody.

Damone Domonique Bell, 22, is charged in U.S. District Court with distribution of heroin and possession with intent to distribute heroin, according to a criminal complaint filed against him by David Hayes, an agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Hayes is assigned to the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force.


Search warrants lead to 5 arrests on drug trafficking charges

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Five people have been arrested on drug charges after search warrants were served in two counties following an investigation that lasted several months.

The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force had been investigating the trafficking of crystal meth. Detectives say more than 18 pounds of crystal meth had been bought and sold in and around Hardin, Bullitt, LaRue and Hart counties during the investigation.

Authorities have identified the five arrested as:

Drug task forces seizes pound of crystal meth, arrests BG man

BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY - The Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force with assistance from Kentucky State Police and Warren County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday seized one pound of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $12,000 and arrested a Bowling Green man.

Andre Lorenzo Bell, 32, 1457 Wind Ridge Ave., is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (crystal meth), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from the task force.


Four Arrested in Madison County AHIDTA Investigation

RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) – The Madison County AHIDTA Drug Task Force executed search warrants at two residences in Madison County, as part of an on-going investigation. As a result, the task force seized 1.6 pounds of heroin, approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, 3.8 ounces of marijuana and eight Ecstasy tablets.
