100 pounds of meth seized from semi during traffic stop in Shelbyville; 2 arrested

SHELBYVILLE, Ky. —

Two men are facing charges after police seized 100 pounds of meth during a traffic stop in Shelbyville.

The Jeffersontown Police Department, DEA, IRS-Criminal Investigations, Appalachia HIDTA, and Shelby County Sheriff's Office were conducting a joint narcotics investigation.

Police said the Shelby County Sheriff's Office stopped a semi on March 30. When deputies searched the trailer, they found around 100 pounds of crystal meth worth $900,000 in suitcases.


Last defendant sentenced in Bowling Green meth conspiracy case

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Last week, the final defendant in a six-person methamphetamine conspiracy centered in Bowling Green was sentenced.

On March 17, Shantaja Hutchins was sentenced to serve 18 1/2 years in federal prison.

According to court records, the 49-year-old invested in large quantities of methamphetamine which Leroy B. Riggsbee, 40, obtained.


Kentucky law enforcement raids stash house in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Multiple Kentucky law enforcement agencies seized multiple drugs from a local stash house.

The Bowling Green–Warren County Drug Task Force began an investigation into drug trafficking activity in the Bowling Green area, which led to the identification of a “stash house” operating in the city.

On Sept. 22, detectives established probable cause and obtained a search warrant for a residence on the 700 block of West Main Avenue in Bowling Green.

That evening, at 9:30 p.m., the warrant was executed at a residence located.

The indictments charging all 22 defendants were the result of a lengthy investigation conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies.


Man facing several charges after drug bust

KENTUCKY (WKYT) - A man is facing several charges after a Madison County Drug Task Force investigation.

Kevin D. Sanders, 48, of Chicago, was taken into custody after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Fayette County on April 24.

The search warrant was a result of a months-long drug trafficking investigation.

Elizabethtown man arrested after police said they found 17 pounds of meth on Bardstown Road

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Elizabethtown man was arrested Friday after police said they found 17 pounds of crystal meth as well as cocaine, Oxycodone, marijuana and steroids on Bardstown Road just east of Elizabethtown.

Suspect on the run after police seize several pounds of meth, fentanyl from Bowling Green home

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Several pounds of drugs were seized in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and police are searching for the suspect.

Thursday, The Bowling Green - Warren County Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Warren County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police, executed a search warrant at a home on Walnut Creek Court in Bowling Green.

During the search, 18 pounds of meth, 6,000 fentanyl tablets, 11 pounds of cocaine, three pounds of marijuana, almost a pound of ecstasy, four handguns and more than $300,000 in cash were seized.


FBI: 26 arrested, more sought in 'massive' drug ring investigation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

The FBI said more than 20 suspected drug traffickers in the Louisville region have been arrested, and they're looking for more.

FBI was seen raiding several locations across Louisville on Tuesday.

Later in the day, the U.S. Department of Justice released names of 34 people across the city and in southern Indiana connected to a drug investigation called "Operation Frozen River."

At least six of these suspects were arrested on Tuesday.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Three people have been arrested by the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force after they investigated a forged prescription case in Bowling Green.

Dominic Escamilla, 21, of Aurora, Illinois, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief. resisting arrest, first-degree criminal possession of a forged prescription and attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud.

Deion Fisher, 26, of Dolton, Illinois, was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged prescription and attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud.


Bowling Green men arrested in ‘largest seizure’ of crystal meth valuing over $500K

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Two Bowling Green men were arrested Wednesday after the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force seized 80 pounds of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of over $500,000.

“This is the largest seizure of Crystal methamphetamine ever in warren county. I think about a year and a half, two years ago we had a case that just recently settled in federal court where we seized 44 pounds of crystal meth, so it’s almost double that,” said Tommy Loving, Director of the Drug Task Force.
