LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - During a traffic stop south of London Wednesday morning, the Laurel County Sheriff's Department, along with the London office of Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), seized a large amount of crystal methamphetamine and charged three people with possession with intent to distribute of meth.
The traffic stop happened around 10:22 a.m. off Hwy. 770 after the Laurel County Sheriff's Department and the London DEA developed information on a large amount of crystal methamphetamine headed into Laurel County.
Police pulled over a 2004 Cadillac Escalade and found more than two pounds of crystal meth inside the vehicle.
Police arrested and charged the driver of the vehicle, James L. Coulter, 39, of Louisville with possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.
Also arrested were Robert A. Thornsberry, 40, of Shepherdsville and Stephaine J. Richard, 32, of Lebanon Junction. Both were charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.
All three were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
Laurel County Sheriff John Root said the "War on Drugs" continues in Laurel County.
